My name is Gary Sondergaard. I am the Membership chair
of the club and can be reached at the club address info@racinecurlingclub.com if you have further questions. We have
several ways for you to come to our club and try the sport we enjoy.
OPPORTUNITIES TO
LEARN:
This Friday, October 31 from 6 PM to 10 PM and Saturday November
1 from 10 AM to 4 PM, we will be having two Open Houses at which you can
get free basic instruction. There will also be a free “Curling Clinic” held
on Saturday, November 8 from 9 AM to no later than 2 PM at which beginning
and some intermediate training will occur.
You can also schedule group outings. We have hosted groups from companies,
churches, clubs, families and youth groups.
We provide USCA certified instruction and hold short game(s). There is a nominal fee. Contact us to arrange a time.
If none of these options fit your plans, contact us and
we can usually arrange a one-on-one session with an instructor.
WHEN YOU COME:
You can learn the basics in a half hour. After the instruction, you would be ready
to contribute to a team in any league. All you need to bring are clean
shoes (court shoes work great) and comfortable, loose fitting clothing.
Air temperature on the ice is about 40 degrees. We provide everything else you will need.
You will need to sign a liability waiver (not yet
available for 2008-9) before going on the ice -- minors need to have a
parent or legal guardian sign.
